National Training Course on Malaria Elimination - Lao PDR
October 21-25, 2019
National Training Course on Malaria Elimination for Lao PDR was held in Amari Hotel, Vang Vieng, Lao PDR on October 21-25, 2019. The activity was attended by 39 participants representing the 5 southern provinces, out of the 17 provinces and 1 capital that comprise the whole country. The 5 provinces namely Borkeo, Luangnamtha, Huaphanh , Luangprabaan and Phonsaly Provinces. Training was facilitated by Center of Malariology Parasitology & Entomology, World Health Organization-Western Pacific Regional Office and ACTMalaria. The specific objective of the course is to equip participants with knowledge, understanding and competencies necessary to strengthen surveillance and response capacities of national and sub-national programmes with the objective of accelerating malaria elimination as a solution to multi-drug resistance including artemisinin resistance
